Need a doctor?

Dysautonomia International has compiled a list of autonomic specialists from all over the world!

Find a doctor here

Doctors I currently see for POTS

Dr. Sameh Mobarek - Cardiologist - Raleigh, NC: Even though I have since relocated to San Antonio, TX, I continue to see Dr. Mobarek virtually. He is the main autonomic specialist in North Carolina and I honestly think that he is the greatest doctor. Very kind, thoughtful, great bedside manner, and really takes the time to get to know you as a patient. He specializes in autonomic dysfunction and is extremely knowledgeable about POTS and all forms of dysautonomia. His nursing staff is also amazing and they get back to you almost immediately.

Dr. Jason Deviney - Optometrist - San Antonio, TX: He diagnosed me with Binocular Vision Dysfunction and has been extremely helpful! If you're in the San Antonio area I definitely recommend him. If you're looking for a local doctor who specializes in BVD, it can be difficult to find one since most optometrists and ophthalmologists don't treat the condition. I recommend googling "optometrists binocular vision dysfunction insert your city name here." New York and Michigan also have large clinics specializing in the condition. It seems like many people with POTS also suffer from BVD without even knowing it!

Doctors I've seen for POTS

Dr. Susan Glenn - Neurologist - Raleigh, NC: She was recommended to me by Dr. Mobarek to address my neuropathy. She prescribed me Atomoxetine to relieve some of the brain fog and fatigue. I was hesitant to get on it at first (it's a low-dose ADHD medication, and I don't have ADHD, but it really did help for a while!). She is great and also very knowledgeable about POTS.

Dr. Bianca Miret - Carolina Functional Neurology Center - Raleigh, NC: I did several months of treatment here. Dr. Miret and the team are knowledgeable about POTS, but I didn't see any long-lasting improvement. It is also extremely expensive and they don't take insurance, so I would not recommend it.

Dr. Corey Berlin - Endocrinologist - Raleigh, NC: I saw Dr. Berlin when I was still trying to figure out what I had and wanted to rule out anything hormonal. He was very kind and helpful, ultimately recommending that I see Dr. Mobarek who I was already on the waitlist to see at the time.

Mayo Clinic doctors

Dr. Christopher Aakre - Internal Medicine - Rochester, MN: Dr. Aakre officially diagnosed me with POTS. He was very knowledgeable about the condition and put my mom and I at ease during our appointment. He was our favorite doctor at Mayo by far.

Dr. Neeraj Kumar - Neurology - Rochester, MN: He wasn't very knowledgeable about POTS (and almost misdiagnosed me), but he ruled out MS and similar diagnoses.

Dr. Glenn Alexander - Gastroenterology - Rochester, MN: Underwent an endoscopy and performed other GI tests to rule out whether gastrointestinal issues were to blame for some of my symptoms.

Dr. John Davidson - Internal Medicine - Rochester, MN: I was never treated by Davidson, but he was my main point of contact during my Mayo Clinic visit.
